Techtatva 07 - Chief d'entreprise

MIT's annual national level Technical festival (TECHTATVA 2007) will be held in the college from 10th to 13th of October. There will be lots of events like quizzes, paper presentations, water rockets, programming tests, decrypting the given codes, junkyard wars, lectures by eminent personalities, gaming contests of games like Need for Speed, Counter Strike, FIFA etc. Most of the events need teams of 2 to 3 members. Also we have many events for all the branches. For all the winners there are cash prizes and national level certificates. It is also free of charge for all the IAESTE interns. The entire schedule and the types of events etc is given on the official website of our technical fest http://www.techtatva07.com/. You can also participate with students from the IAESTE team. If not participating then even watching the events like junkyard wars, water rockets etc can be real fun.

After getting this invitation Inés and me decided to participate in one of the programs: Chief d'entreprise...we were so many people that were split in 2 rooms...we were in the NLH 104...full of very concentrated persons...we were sitting at the first row...when everything and everyone was ready, the organizer team started to give us some set of stapled papers... one set about maths where you had to solve with the only help of a pen and a blank paper every kind of logaritms and exponencial equations... was crazy! other one about english comprenhension... the text was related to some space-time dimension...absolutely metaphisic! The third one I don't remember even the topic...Inés looked at me...I looked at her...and started to laugh at the same time...we couldn't stop...everyone was in a mistic silent except for us...but was impossible to stop...we tried hard but...no way...even the guy sitting near us complaint about it because he needed silent...the initial duration was 2 hours but then they decided to extend it...we wanted to die...we tried to concentrate in our papers but...even if we got to stay there until the end...we din't even check our results after the test... for sure the worst... hahahahha, but was really amaizing...just imaging for a moment...in an indian university ...in a classroom completily full of indian engineering students, most of them guys of course - as usually in engineering course all over the world - ... in a competition at national level - everyone here is looking for "THE EXCELLENCE"- and the 2 of us just trying to understand something from these papers...so we had 2 chances: cry or laugh...and we took the last one untill the extreme :-)

In the evening I went to have dinner to Cosmo with Yajur, Arush and Sri and after it started to rain cats and dogs, but we were already late for the salsa classes so even if we run to take a ricksaw...arrived completily wet!! This is one of the colateral effects of the monzoon season...

After dancing we came back to MIT to watch the movie they screened in the new lecture building as a part of the Techtatva program: "The last king of Scotchland". I like it even if it was in english! ;-)
