First times

Today is my first morning in Manipal that of course...I have spent sleeping...so I haven't had breakfast...
It is a national holiday because of Mahatma Gandhi anniversary.

Today everything has been new for me...with day light things look very different...today is the day of the first times...

First time to the Mess (university canteen) with my flatmates Inés, Fabrizo, Francisca and Tessa; is the BQ canteen but we go to an special dinning hall, quite small that is just for guest :), it's 100% vegeterian and absolutely indian cousine; I like it despite some dishes are too spicy.
We met there a nice polish couple that currently live in USA; Zenon is a professor of mechanical enginnering and has been invited by MIT for a month and his wife Christine is such a smily and sweet woman...they just arrived in India and were really happy of meeting some others foreigners to share these first moments...eventually they live in the building than us...so we already know our neighbourgs :)

Buying an indian mobile with characters in hindi and a hutch (vodafone) sim card with KV, Rishi, Jelena Croatia, my flatmates and the polish couple...they give you 100 free local sms per day..."I don't know why so many...you will never use all of them"...this was my first thought...now I understand it :) Sent first sms.

Taking first capuccino in Coffee Day, the best place for a coffee here but also the most expensive (30 Rs)

Tour around MIT Campus: corridor of the IAESTE office, quadrangle and civil building and main circle.

First dinner-party at VF 203:
Nick brasilero cooked pasta for Martin's farewell and our flat was full of people, we were trying to have a party but actually it was more a meeting...people seating and talking...we had plenty of laptops but no loudspeakers at all and we couldn’t buy beers because was Gandhi's anniversary and this means a "dry day", but was a good excuse to meet most of the others trainees...
